Effects of Shenmai San on Hemodynamics in Isolated Working Guinea Pigs Hearts by Serum Pharmacology
Abstract:ObjectiveTo observe the effects of Shenmai San on hemodynamics in isolated working guinea pigs hearts. MethodsThe experiment was accomplished by serum pharmacology. Different ig dosages(5,10 ml·kg-1) were administered to rabbits twice a day for three consecutive days .The blood was taken at 60 min after the last administration and the serum was separated. The separated serum was added to the isolated working guinea pigs hearts. The effects of Shenmai San on heart rate (HR),arterial blood pressure (AP),left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP),left ventricular end-diastolic pressure (LVEDP),and ±dp/ dtmax were observed. ResultsThe herbal Shenmai San serum slowed HR and reduced AP、LVEDP,increase LVSP and ±dp/ dtmax (P<0. 01) in a dose-dependent manner.ConclusionThe results suggest that the herbal Shenmai San serum may cause positive inotropic effect and reduce rhythum of the heart and blood pressure in isolated working heart in a dose-dependent manner.
